Sorry this item has sold A black steatite cylinder seal carved with an enthroned god holding a staff, behind him is a protective figure of a seated griffin. Syria, 2nd Millennium BC Size: 2.3 x 0.9 cms. The surface is pitted and worn in places, erasing part of the decoration Ex. private collection, Winchester, UK. Probably acquired 1970's or earlier. Cleared by the British Museum for re-sale in accordance with national and international embargoes on the trade in Iraqi cultural property.
