A pink and yellow mottled calcite amulet in the form of a recumbent bull; the body is pierced vertically for suspension.

Mesopotamia, Sumerian, late 4th to mid 3rd Millennium BC

Intact as shown

Size:  2.8 x 2.6 cms

Ex. collection: Henk Hueffener, UK; acquired 1950's-1980's. Mr. Hueffener was a Dutch Resistance fighter during World War II. He was one of only 27 individuals to be awarded the "Heroes of Holocaust" bravery medal by the British State, and was also given the Righteous among The Nations award by Israel.
