Roman glass drinking bowl

£380

A lovely pale green glass drinking bowl with a globular body and a delicate round folded rim.

A very good example of its type: the photographs do not accurately reflect its symmetry and well-balanced proportions.

Roman, 1st or 2nd Century AD

Intact. A thin layer of calcified deposits remain over much of the surface revealing a delicate layer of iridescence below. The white patch visible on the right of each picture is a refection caused by the lighting during photography.

Size: 7.6 x 10 cms

Provenance: Ex. private collection, Bath, UK. Acquired from Charles Ede, c. 1960's
