A small pottery oil lamp decorated to the tondo with a vivacious figure of a male lion. within an ovolo border.

Roman, c. mid 2nd to 3rd Century AD

Size: 8.5 x 6 cms

Provenance: Ex. private collection, Somerset, UK. Acquired c. 1960's/1970's in Palestine while founding and running a mixed Arab and Jewish charitable orphanage. Moshe Dayan was a regular visitor to the orphanage and influenced the formation of the antiquities collection.
