Roman marble head of Pan

A small but finely carved white marble head depicting an unkempt man with a beard and asinine type ears. This is probably a representation of the sylvan deity Pan, often seen in the company of Dionysos/Bacchus, the god of wine and merriment.

Roman, c. 2nd Century AD

Fragment as shown, the detail is finer than the images imply.
