Roman pottery bust of the goddess Minerva

A fine moulded pottery bust of the goddess Minerva depicted wearing armour and a Corinthian helmet.

Roman, c. 1st Century AD

Repaired from three large pieces, some damage on the lower right side of the bust.

Size: 7.8 x 5.9 cms, 10 cms with stand.

Ex. collection: Ken Tullett, Dorset, UK; acquired 1970's/1980's. This item is part of a collection of several hundred antiquities accumulated over 50 years in London and the South Coast. Mr. Tullett frequently authenticated his purchases with the British Museum and kept notes on many items detailing where they were bought; where such references are available we will include details with the item when sold.
