Romano-British grey-ware decorated pottery vase

A grey-ware pottery vase with an everted rim and waisted body terminating in a slender foot. The surface of the vase is decorated with alternating horizontal bands of smooth and coarse texture (possibly a bit too subtle to appreciate from the photographs).

Romano-British, Cambridgeshire, probably Nene Valley, 2nd or early 3rd Century AD

Repaired from two pieces with only very minor losses.

Size: 10.5 x 16 cms

Ex. private collection, Cambridge, UK. Acquired early 20th Century and found in the Cambridgeshire region.
