A moulded pottery oil lamp decorated with a border of vines and grapes encircling a figure of a wild boar.

Roman, North Africa or Asia Minor, 3rd Century AD

A couple of very small chips otherwise intact

Size:  12.3 x 9.5 cms

Provenance: Ex. private collection, Somerset, UK. Acquired c. 1960's/1970's in Palestine while founding and running a mixed Arab and Jewish charitable orphanage. Moshe Dayan was a regular visitor to the orphanage and influenced the formation of the antiquities collection.
