Roman bronze dog

£125

A small but charming cast bronze figure of a dog with a prominent curled tail. The figure clearly shows a toy-dog breed such as a Pomeranian, and almost certainly represents an animal which would have been kept as a pet; the figure was possibly used as a child's toy.

Roman, 2nd - 4th Century AD

Intact

Size: 2.1 x 1.5 cms.

Ex. private collection, The Netherlands. Acquired 1970's.
