A fragment from a moulded pottery relief depicting a young boy carrying an unidentified item on his left shoulder.

Roman, 2nd or 3rd Century AD

Fragment as shown, the decoration is a little clearer than the photographs suggest.

Size: 7.5 x 3.5 cms

Ex. collection: Ken Tullett, Dorset, UK; acquired 1970's/1980's. This item is part of a collection of several hundred antiquities accumulated over 50 years in London and the South Coast. Mr. Tullett frequently authenticated his purchases with the British Museum and kept notes on many items detailing where they were bought; where such references are available we will include details with the item when sold.
