A fine cast bronze knife handle in the form of a large recumbent deer being attacked by a smaller feline-type animal with its jaws poised at the animal's throat.

The attacking feline forms the butt of the handle and the rump of the deer would have been fitted with a blade which is now lost.

Mongolia, Ordos Culture, mid to late 1st Millennium BC

Size: 10 x 1.9 cms

Ex. collection: Jacques Schotte, Belgium, 1928-2007. Dr. Schotte was the co-founder of the Belgian School of Psychoanalysis.
