Celtic lead sacrificial female figure

A lead votive statuette of a standing naked female figure wearing large bands around her ankles. Her tilted head is decorated with typical stylised Celtic facial features and part of her left hand can be seen on the front of her hip.

This eerily evocative figure may represent a shackled slave or female captive taken in battle.

Central Europe, Celtic, 1st Century BC/AD

Repaired on neck and lower legs, losses as seen in the photographs

Size: 12.5 x 3.4 cms
