A hollow moulded pottery figure of a horse, pierced on the side of the mouth to hold a lead-rein. The surface is painted white and additionally painted with a green and red harness details around the neck and head.

Egypt, Coptic Period, 5th to 8th Century AD

Intact as shown, areas of light surface wear.

Size: 9.4 x 10.2 cms

Ex. collection: PHDS Wikramaratna, Essex, UK; acquired c. 1950-1990.
