Etruscan bucchero ware votive kyathos

A grey burnished pottery (bucchero ware) miniature kyathos with a flared lip and raised loop handle. The kyathos was designed for use as a wine ladle and this example's diminutive size would imply a votive function.

Etruscan, 7th or 6th Century BC

Lower body chipped on one side (the damage does not penetrate the inside).

Size: 4.7 x 5.5 cms
