Etruscan large pottery head

A visually striking head from a large votive pottery figure of a youth.

The features show a very strong influence from Archaic Greece and although the head is simple in outline the features are superbly proportioned and masterful in their precision.

Etruscan, c. 550 BC

Size: 13.8 x 10.8 x 10 cms

Intact as shown, very robust surface with a good patina.

Ex. private collection, UK. Two old ink inscriptions detailing collection numbers on the back.
