Roman very large mosaic glass bead

A very large and impressive polygonal black glass bead decorated with five panels containing multicoloured mosaic glass inlay within a white glass border.

Roman, c. 2nd Century AD

Size: 2.5 x 1.7 cms

Intact as shown in the photographs. Very robust and fully wearable if mounted into a modern piece of jewellery.

Ex. private collection, Middlesex, UK. Probably acquired in the early 20th Century.
