Islamic glass and metal wire bracelet

A light blue glass bracelet with spiral decoration. The spiral has been ornamented by the unusual addition of a metal wire.

Islamic, c. 16th or 17th Century AD

Intact, though much of the wire wrapping has eroded away.

Size: 6.6 cms maximum diameter

Ex. private collection, Germany. Acquired 1960's/1970's. Part of this collection has been published in the 1980's; this bracelet is illustrated in Christie's Fine Antiquities sale catalogue of 30th April 2008 (London), page 47, lot 62.
