Greek black glazed pottery skyphos

A black glazed pottery skyphos cup with two handles and an elegantly curved body profile.

Greek, South Italian colonies, 4th Century BC

Size: 9.5 x 15.7 cms across handles.

Repaired around one handle, there is an ancient firing crack on the rim by the other handle. A small crack, chips and wear around the rim and calcified accretions on the surface as seen in the photographs.

Ex. private collection, Gloucestershire, UK. Acquired early 20th Century.
