A group of three hollow buff pottery stylised doves. Birds such as this were made as votive offerings, usually dedicated to Aphrodite the goddess of love.

Greek, Canosan colonies in South Italy, 4th Century BC

Average size: 8 x 14 cms

Bird 1: neck and beak repaired. Bird 2: Tail repaired, beak restored. Bird 3: Head repaired with minor resotration on the neck.

Ex. private collection, Northumbria, UK. Acquired in London during the 1980's-1990's.
