Greek pottery draped torso

£300

Sorry this item has sold

A very pretty hollow moulded pottery torso fragment from a draped figure.

The androgynous modelling but lack of any female features suggests that this depicts a young man.

Greek, Hellenistic, probably from the colonies of Asia Minor or Sicily, 3rd or 2nd Century BC

Size: 12.5 x 6 cms.

Fragment as shown.

Ex. private collection, UK. Purchased at auction in the UK in the late 1990's.
