Corinthian fine painted pottery vase

£70

A very fine small pottery flask decorated to the body with thin brown painted bands; around the shoulder a frieze of waves is faintly visible.

Although the decoration is largely erased this pot still represents a good example of some of the finest small-scale work from the potters of Corinth.

Greek, Corinth, 6th Century BC

Neck repaired, part of rim and handle lost; general surface wear.

Size: 7.5 x 6.2 cms

Formerly in the collection of a museum employee, Oxford, UK.
