A moulded pottery figure of a winged Erote with extensive white slip decoration. The figure is depicted standing and leaning on a post, he is naked except for a long cloak thrown over his back.

Greek, Hellenistic, circa 3rd Century BC

Size: 16.7 x 10.9 cms

Repaired from several pieces with some 19th Century restorations and a small area of loss to the back. Typical old Grand Tour collection patina.

Ex. private collection, Oxford, UK. Acquired in the late 18th or early 19th Century.

Traces of multiple old inscriptions and a small unreadable collection label on the reverse.
