Egyptian painted wood statue base

A solid wood block with a gessoed and painted surface decorated with a central row of crudely painted hieroglyphs. This block would have formed the base to a Ptah-Soker-Osiris figure.

Egypt, Ptolemaic or Roman period, c. 3rd Century BC to 3rd Century AD

Damages to the surface as seen in the photographs.
