A section of gesso-coated linen from a mummy case painted with numerous hieroglyphs as well as a winged scarab holding the Sun Disc and another fragmentary winged figure (probably Isis).

Egypt, Ptolemaic period, 332-30 BC

Losses as shown, the piece consists of three fragments

Size: 16.2 x 19.5 cms

Ex. collection: Dr. Erwin Hoess, Vienna, Austria; acquired in the late 19th Century.

Temporarily mounted in a simple glazed clip-frame.
