|
A blue glazed faience amulet of roughly rectangular form with waisted sides. Each corner of the front surface is decorated with a black glazed blob. Presumably this is a stylised and simplified representation of a quadruple Eye of Horus amulet. The amulet is pierced twice horizontally, perhaps to form part of a double-stranded necklace. Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 730-332 BC. Intact. Size: 1.3 x 1.1 cms Provenance: Ex. Private collection, Essex, UK. Acquired before c. 1970.
