Egyptian glazed steatite button seal

A small glazed steatite button seal decorated with an indistinct pattern on the base (possibly an Eye of Horus, or Tauret if tilted another way).

Egypt, late 2nd Millennium BC

Some chipping and wear to the surface as shown in the photographs

Size: 0.9 x 0.5 cms

Ex. Private collection, UK; acquired in the early 20th Century. Thence acquired in Christies London in 2005 by Dr. Pietro Villari, Sicily, Italy. Dr. Villari co-founded The International Centre of High Education and Research in Archaeology (Venice); and in 1996 he also founded The Archaeological Centre (The Netherlands).
