Cypriot Early Bronze Age pottery bowl

A hemispherical red pottery bowl with a black oxidised upper body and burnished surfaces, the rim is mounted with a single pierced lug handle.

Cyprus, Early Bronze Age, c. 2500-1900 BC

Chipped as seen in the photographs, otherwise in fine condition.

Size: 8 x 14.1 cms

Ex. collection: Jorgen Jacobsen, Bornholm, Denmark. Acquired while on UN duty with the Danish peace-keeping forces on Cyprus (Dancon X/XI) between October 1968 and October 1969. This item is part of a large collection of Cypriot antiquities acquired by Mr Jacobsen from antiques shops in Cyprus during his one-year stay on the island.
