Cypriot burnished pottery bowl

A red/brown burnished pottery hemispherical bowl with a single pierced lug handle and a dimpled base.

Cyprus, Early Bronze Age, 2500-1900 BC

A small stabilised crack on one side of the body and some repair and restoration on part of the rim next to the handle.

Size: 8.9 x 13 cms

Ex. collection: Jorgen Jacobsen, Bornholm, Denmark. Acquired while on UN duty with the Danish peace-keeping forces on Cyprus (Dancon X/XI) between October 1968 and October 1969. This item is part of a large collection of Cypriot antiquities acquired by Mr Jacobsen from antiques shops in Cyprus during his one-year stay on the island.
