Cypriot pottery cup with grey slip surface

A hemispherical pottery cup with a single pierced handle decorated with a double prong; the surface of the cup is coated in a buff grey slip.

Cyprus, Late Bronze Age, 1650 - 1050 BC

General surface wear and a few small chips.

Size: 4 x 8.8 cms

Ex. collection: Jorgen Jacobsen, Bornholm, Denmark. Acquired while on UN duty with the Danish peace-keeping forces on Cyprus (Dancon X/XI) between October 1968 and October 1969. This item is part of a large collection of Cypriot antiquities acquired by Mr Jacobsen from antiques shops in Cyprus during his one-year stay on the island.
