Cypriot buff pottery drinking vessel

A finely formed buff pottery drinking cup with sharply profiled sides and a wide rim.

Cyprus, c. 600-475 BC

Intact with light surface chips as seen in the photographs.

Size: 4.7 x 12.2 cms.

Ex. collection: Jorgen Jacobsen, Bornholm, Denmark. Acquired while on UN duty with the Danish peace-keeping forces on Cyprus (Dancon X/XI) between October 1968 and October 1969. This item is part of a large collection of Cypriot antiquities acquired by Mr Jacobsen from antiques shops in Cyprus during his one-year stay on the island.
