Over 140 ancient Egyptian ushabtis exquisitely photographed and meticulously catalogued. This volume is particularly recommended  due to the high quality of the research, cross-referencing and individual translations of each and every piece. Though some of the ushabtis are important, the book also contains many examples which are still available on the market, making it more useful to the collector than many museum catalogues which tend to focus on the rarer pieces. The full size colour illustrations, usually with multiple views of each figure, are of the highest possible quality. A CD (playable on Windows formats only) accompanies this book and provides the opportunity to view each ushabti with 360 degree rotation.

This volume is a real labour of love by the author, who encapsulates the 21st Century version of the dedicated if almost fanatic amateur Egyptologists of the 1800's, spurred by an appetite for knowledge and research.
