£95 |
|
Sorry this item has sold A pottery mould for producing figures of a draped and diademed goddess standing on an integral rounded plinth. The figure holds a round object in one hand and possibly a bird in the other. For obvious reasons moulds are less common than figures, and it is unusual for one of these to survive in good condition as they were normally in usage until they were worn out or broken. Greek, Hellenistic, c. 2nd Century BC Intact, with general light surface wear Size: 12 x 7 cms Ex. private collection, UK. Supplied with a plaster impression of the mould.
